The Lake Highlands Orchestra program was formed upon the need to provide excellent orchestral and ensemble opportunities for young musicians and community musicians in various performance levels and styles throughout the year in the North Dallas area.
The LHO brings in world-class expert musicians who give young music students and members of the community who play a musical instrument a positive musical experience, encouraging excellence, discipline and leadership, and giving them the ideal atmosphere to collaborate with other people who share interest in music.
The LHO extends to be a way to enrich and cultivate an appreciation for musical masterworks in the community and providing orchestral and ensemble performance opportunities for talented music students and members of the community.
The LHO also provides Dallas music students and community musicians with a summer orchestra camp and multiple opportunities to perform in chamber groups, as well as in non-classical-styled ensembles like Fiddling, Jazz, Pop, and Big Band.
Other activities promoted by the LHO are masterclasses, chamber music coaching sessions, orchestra camps, and non-classical music style workshops.
